Dr. Omar Najjarine

Omar Najjarine graduated in 2006 with a Bachelors degree in Podiatry from the University of Western Sydney and currently registered as a Podiatrist. Omar went on to further his studies completing certificate courses in Lower-Limb Biomechanics and Mobilisation, Prolotherapy and Acupuncture, which broadened his skills, knowledge and understanding of the foot, sports medicine and biomechanics.

In 2017, Omar achieved his Endorsement for Schedule Medicines by the Australian Health and Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), which qualified him to administer and prescribe Schedule 2, 3, 4 or 8 medicines to patients for the treatment of podiatric conditions, from the list of Scheduled Medicines approved by the Podiatry Board of Australia (the National Podiatry Scheduled Medicines List).

Over the years, Omar has worked in various clinics in and around Sydney and has gained experience in various aspects of Podiatry. Omar currently owns and operates the Total Foot and Ankle Clinic, which offers general and sports Podiatry services from 3 locations around Sydney, with the main clinic located in the Parramatta CBD.

Common Questions?

Most, if not all, health funds cover podiatry services. However, it depends on the level of cover that a patient has. Please contact your health fund for more information. The item numbers that you would need are 004 for initial consult, 014 for sub-consult. If requiring Orthotics, 301 for casting and 221 for the Orthotics devises (make sure you mention to your health fund that your inquiring about both feet) We are also a Medibank members choice Podiatry clinic. So if your with Medibank, you get more back and discounts on certain items, like Orthotics.

Custom orthotics work great depending on the condition treated, prescription and design of the orthotic. The evidence based research outlines the effectiveness of custom orthotics in treating a wide variety of lower-limb complications. This is however depended correlation between biomechanical measurements and orthotic prescription. 

Dedending on the assessments required and time, the initial consultation costs range from $80 for general assessments to $150 for biomechanical assessments. The Podiatrist will be able to give a better idea on costs involved.

Orthotics is a very general term, there are many different types of orthotics, they can range from $50 for generic, with custom orthotics ranging between $600 to $1200, depending on style, type, condition, needs and budget of the patient. A Podiatrist will discuss the best possible range for your needs. AFOs can start from $1200 each. 

Only Podiatrist who hold an endorsement for scheduled medication are able to prescribed certain pain medications medications and antibiotics, which relates to foot and lower limb conditions. Gladly Dr Omar is an endorsed prescriber who is can prescribe Medication according to patient’s needs and conditions. 

The only surgical procedures conducted by our Podiatrist are: Partial Nail Avulsion (PNA), Total Nail Avulsion (TNA) and Curettage of wart or foreign object. This is conducted at the clinic under local aesthetic. More complicated foot surgery is often referred to a Podiatric Surgeon.

Normally it is best to bring your child after the age of 2, and not delay this too much. It doesn’t mean kids will be treatment at the young age, however it can provide a baseline for further assessments in the future and tacks the milestones and improvements of the child.

Yes, our earliest appointment is 8am and the latest 6pm.

Yes they can, but only from the hip down. Podiatrist can also refer for lower limb and spine EOS scans for leg length difference and private MRI. 

Yes, Podiatrists do remove corns and calluses.
